Swiss-born conductor Federico Frigo was the first Swiss to ever graduate from the Italian Conducting Academy under the guidance of M° Gilberto Serembe in Milan. Since his graduation, Federico has conducted concerts in Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany.
He made his professional conducting debut with the Orchestra della Toscana and Ettore Pagano in Florence. He has been invited to conduct a concert series with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie in Herford as well as a soldout concert at the prestigious Sala Verdi in Milan for La Società dei Concerti di Milano , earning acclaim for his musical sensitivity and charisma on the podium.
Federico’s musical journey commenced at the age of 6 with a focus on percussion. He later pursued advanced studies at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan studying Composition under the mentorship of M° Paolo Tortiglione.
His education has been enriched by participating in international masterclasses with renowned Professors: Nicolás Pasquet, Martin Sieghart, and Jorma Panula. These experiences have allowed him to refine his technique and broaden his repertoire.
Federico has also been invited by the LEAD! Foundation to take part in the "4th Fiskars Summer Festival and Academy“ in Finland, mentored by Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Esa-Pekka Salonen, James Gaffigan, Dalia Stasevska and Composer Magnus Lindberg.
He has already collaborated with the NWD Philharmonie, Orchestra della Toscana, Kecskemét Symphony Orchestra, Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra delle Alpi among others. In the following months he will assist M° Simon Hewett in productions in Hamburg at the State Opera, in Milan at the Teatro alla Scala and in Dresden at the Semperoper.
